Everybody say welcome to the latest major Weblate release! A lot of number 5 are included in this one, and plenty of new features and improvements!

So this is 5.15, released on 15th December, being the last major in 2025. The first shout-out belongs to Karen! She successfully finished the migration of the Weblate frontend to Bootstrap 5. We are proud of this achievement of hers. As planned work is now accomplished, we look forward to receiving feedback from you! Don't hesitate to open an issue if something feels fishy in the UI. And please don't forget to search existing ones before you go all into creation.

Another popular 5 are the new formats supported, including the mighty XLIFF 2.0. Even the special Nextcloud JSON is included in this group! Ask yourself “Who owns my translations?”, remember it's now even easier to open your project to a better future and do the next good thing with a glance.

If you want to continue on the open-source approach to your translations, the newly integrated Ollama can be your friend. No need to send your translations on a long trip to some shady model places. This one you can host yourself!

Then we have security advisories, where less is more, so we have 4 for you. No need to panic; there's nothing critical in there, but it's always best to openly fix known vulnerabilities as soon as we learn about them. If you want to know about fixes before they get out, while we still have them in the kitchen, then the club of our Premium support package subscribers will happily welcome you! That way, you can plan a smooth update before it's available.

Then, we introduce support for Git SHA256 repositories and Fedora Messaging support integrated into Weblate's core. No need to set it up as an additional module anymore.

There's more to enjoy and benefit from in this version, and you can check all that in the changelog. For now, we wish you a calm end of the year and look forward to seeing you at FOSDEM'26! Stay tuned for more on our plans there soon.
