We don't bring you holidays, but we do deliver comfort to you! Yes, comfort is the common call for the main deliveries in this release.

Comfort comes in many flavors. Feeling safe is a way for sure, and in this, the Weblate team is not alone this time, delivering security fixes, keeping your data safe. Many dependencies solved some security advisories as well, and you can list through Weblate ones or go through all the changes in this milestone.

The most comfort-adding feature in this release is the new way of integrating with the currently most-popular code-hosting site: GitHub. No matter what Weblate instance you look after, you can create a GitHub app simply from the Manage page. No coding knowledge needed. And if you are managing a translation project in Weblate, your server admin quite probably did that, so you can simply connect your translations to your remote repository with an existing app. No more form filling needed. Check it at Hosted Weblate!

We will continue with this approach soon for other code-hosting sites as well. It's never good to settle in one garden, right?

Then, let's look into the backgarden, backend I wanted to say. Many invisible changes have grown there this month, so the translation memory management is all-new, bringing new options for the future and performance improvements right now.

And on that topic, there was a big cleaning spree in the Weblate codebase during this summer-starting month...well, at least for some parts of the world. Numerous independent parts of the backend were rewritten by our teammates, and while it is difficult to point out something specific, it all connects in better performance and stability.

And at last, the jQuery dependency got dropped. It's not a feature, but sometimes, simplifying is the best innovation.

So, test 2026.7 with your demands and needs; share your thoughts if you want! In the discussions or via our Care.

Happy Weblating, see you soon!
