After two months, we are here again to introduce you the new major version of Weblate! What changes and improvements can you enjoy this time?
The most interesting for maintainers of the projects and community builders is our new Localization Guide. It will help you to set up the project and its components the right way to smooth the translator’s experience. Make it easier for them; they will pay back in translations’ quality and speed.
If you need to find anything while translating, we’ve got you covered now! Try the new and complex Search feature.
If you like to download the package of all translations of your project, component, or language, get the ZIP of your choice with one click now.
For those who want to translate faster with robots, try the new addon called Automatic translation.
After every translation, manual or machine, you want to run some checks to have it perfect. That’s why we improved quality checks, gave them a bit better interface, like Fix string button that will appear in translator’s UI when some checks find mistakes.
One more thing! this time is automatic secure backups to Weblate cloud or your own infrastructure. This will be the topic of the next article on Weblate blog that will be out within the following days.
A full 3.9 changelog is in Weblate’s documentation.
If you like 3.9, tell the world! Did you find a bug? Tell us so we can smash it instantly! If you want help with upgrade or anything, look here.
We wish you smooth localization and see you soon with the next release, which will be probably 4.0 with significant changes in frontend and backend. Stay tuned!
